About Judge Amanda Dunnuck
Amanda Dunnuck has practiced law for the past 22 years in Delaware County. She has served 17 years as a private attorney and the last 10 years as Muncie City Court Judge following her appointment by the Indiana Governor in 2015. She is currently completing her third elected term on the bench. A graduate of Delta High School, Ball State University (B.S. in Criminal Justice), and the University of Dayton School of Law (J.D.), Amanda Dunnuck brings extensive experience in both civil and criminal trial practice.
Her professional background includes service as a certified family law mediator, court-appointed guardian in multiple capacities, and legal counsel for the Delaware County Council, as well as successfully arguing on behalf of Delaware County Board of Health before the Supreme Court of Indiana. As a local attorney, Amanda has been appointed Judge Pro Tem to preside over felony and civil cases. As a Judge, Amanda has overseen court budgeting and administration, and led significant court improvements including modernizing technology, strengthening due process safeguards, and reducing the active caseload by more than 50 percent. In her role as Muncie City Court Judge, Judge Dunnuck hears more than 8,000 criminal and civil cases each year.
Before taking the bench, Amanda Dunnuck served the citizens of Delaware County as a trial lawyer, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. This balanced courtroom experience provides her with a comprehensive understanding of the legal process from all perspectives, reinforcing her commitment to fairness and equal justice under the law.
